Numerous sporting activities as well as events such as the “Kastelruther Spatzenfest” and traditional highlights such as “Törggelen” are just some of the reasons to visit the Sciliar region during the warm season

When the meadows turn back into a sea of yellow-flowering dandelion, spring has arrived in Castelrotto. Experience this natural spectacle on a walk in the surroundings of the Kompatscherhof in S. Michele at the foot of Alpe di Siusi.
In summer you can hike the Sciliar region on well signposted hiking trails directly from our farm. Pack your backpack and off you go! On Alpe di Siusi you can expect difficult and easy hikes through the unique mountain world of the Dolomites, the impressive Sciliar and the majestic Sassolungo Group.
There are also numerous other leisure activities in the Sciliar region such as swimming in the open-air swimming pool in Telfen or in the natural lake Lago di Fie, paragliding, horse riding, tennis and golf.
In autumn the desire for chestnuts and “Kastelruther Krapfen” awakes, which you can taste together with the new South Tyrolean grape juice and wine in one of the numerous taverns in Castelrotto and in the entire Eisack Valley.
In Sant’Osvaldo, the head of the folk music group “Kastelruther Spatzen” Norbert Rier himself roasts crispy chestnuts. The “Kastelruther Spatzenfest” is a huge event that attracts many visitors to the Sciliar region. Once a year, the harvest festival and the traditional “Almabtrieb” are also fixed events for many onlookers.
The barbecue evenings with our guests and the joint hike to our alpine hut on the Alpe di Siusi is something very special.
